There has been a lot of negative hoopla about the New reality T.V. series "Preachers of L.A. my question was why?
Today I was able to catch up on all of the episodes, oh my, why would Christians sit and watch a show that degrades the faith as some has said? The Preachers of L.A. are not our example, Jesus is. In today's culture we are more focused on an image than we are the spirit. Image reflects the natural things, things which are tangible . We can see, touch, and imitate. While the spiritual things, are those things we cannot see, touch, and are harder to imitate. The scripture in Matthew instructs us : "judge not lest you be judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged." How can we (humans) cast judgment against these men of God like we are any better. If we are honest, we are one crisis or opportunity away from sinning, having a nervous breakdown, or selling our soul to Hollywood for fame. Never say never, because never can manifest itself into forever. The comments that I have read via social media, heard in meetings, and in the hair salon did not paint the same picture that I saw on the episodes today. I witnessed imperfect Pastors, Bishops, First ladies etc., trying to work out their salvation. Everyone has a choice, God gave us that. We all have to give an account for sins that we commit repeatedly. You and I struggle to make decisions on a daily basis right? The cast of Preachers of L.A. is no different. Instead of talking about them, pray for them, they need it. I kept hearing about all of the nice cars.....o.k. did I miss something? I know I would not want my leader driving a hoopty, and asking me or any other member for gas money. So what if they have Bentleys, again every man has to give an account for his/her sin if that is a sin. Hopefully it isn't because I wouldn't mind driving one. I believe that critics, if given the opportunity would do whatever it takes to trade places with these Preachers regardless if the show is real or scripted. I admonish you to keep your eyes on Jesus, do not let Preachers of L.A. become a distraction as it has become to many. Hone in to the message, take your eyes completely off the messengers. The most profound message I witnessed during the show was the evangelism that Pastor Haizlip, and Bishop Gibson were doing and that's what I believe what the show was intended to be all about. Again, the images has distracted some believers and they have and will continue to miss God. If you do not agree and do not like the show that's a decision of your own. As authentic believers let's pray for them not judge them, why? Because that which you mete out will be measured back to you. Flow in the Holy spirit until we all attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
